When I was at school, I used to go to the local sweet shop (Munch Box) to buy a stash of 1p sweets.

I'd spend £2 and get exactly 200 sweets...

Now I'd struggle to find a single sweet for less than 5p each!

What is this world coming to? (n)

Buy them for 1p and sell them for 5p! So you were the school's rip-off merchant!! haha.
Selling them at a higher price after lunch break when nobody could get to the shop themselves!

I remember mishaps much cheaper than 1p sweets and it was because they weren't perfect! Love that could get double for your money!

Glad I grew out of my sweet tooth the price of sweets these days and nothing tastes the same does it?

Anglo bubbly used to be my favorite - would always have a mouthful of it blowing huge bubbles! Was bought some recently from http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/ but they just didnt keep keeo the flavour like I remember, although I'm sure that they were probably like that when I was kid as well and thats my memory playing tricks!

1p sweets seems like ancient history now, I can't see anything that cheap anymore. I remember when bus fare for child was 2p! The erosive power of inflation...

They went to makro, Costco and bookers. They also went to 2p.

You can still buy them in big boxes. Yummy!
