I am looking to help people this year by offering a tutorial website that will have both free and paid video courses and cover a wide range of topics. Would this interest anyone.

That's a great idea! Have you looked into your competition?

I have looked into competition, and like everything there is quite a few websites. But I am not letting it put me off.

With this sort of market competition isn't really an issue, depending how updated you keep things. Many people start these sort of things then just let them die off.

Good luck and keep us updated :)

I have had the idea for a while, I have most of my courses etc planned out. I mean you only have to look at the success of Treehouse. But I think the passion is there as I really enjoy helping people. I just wanted a change from freelancing.

What sort of tutorials would they be? It might be best off to start off targeting a certain subject that you know about and has the least competition and then expand it from there. With YouTube now being the world's second largest search engine you'll want to make sure there isn't the same kind of thing available for free.

How are you getting on with this, have you got an MVP (minimum viable product) in place to test your style out?

If you need a guinea pig let me know, as its the sort of thing I am always looking to improve upon. Feel free to PM me if that makes it easier to reach me.

    - Wordpress
    - knowing what to ask freelancers to do
    - html
    - there are a wide range of things from animations to games to simply producing my own graphics that would be useful to be able to dabble in.

    Good luck
