A recent survey by PDQ Payments Limited shows that up to 40% of small UK retailers do not take credit card payments. It appears that on the eve of 2013, many small retailers are still stuck in 1950's Britain where cash is king.

Unfortunately for the UK retailers that are still battling against the idea of taking card payments, these businesses are in fact fighting a losing battle. 2010 was the first year were credit & debit card payments had overtaken cash payments, showing that there is a continued trend in consumers moving forward to becoming a cashless society here in the UK.

"A number of high-street banks have scared off many small businesses from taking card payments due to their high transaction based fees and monthly card machine costs, but this doesn't have to be the case" mentions the marketing manager of PDQ Payments Limited.

"While low transaction fees are reserved for big businesses from high-street banks, our company has been specifically set-up to cater for the small business owner and in return, we can offer the same low rates. No more 2 to 3+ percent per transaction - our small business merchant account rates start from just 1.25%. What's more, we don't tie you in to long-term contracts - we are incredibly fair with this and we were one of the first UK merchant account providers to offer 1 year contracts... but then again, we can afford to as we are incredibly confident our customers will stay with us after this period of time".

Anyone who gets a quote and signs up online between now and 6th January 2013 will be eligible for the £50 Marks & Spencer voucher to spend in any store, nationwide.
