No one can deny the importance of Mother Mary in the advent of Christianity. Even though the Blessed Virgin’s life and holy works were not recorded in the Old Testament, she was always revered by the Christians. Not much is recorded on the early life of Mother Mary but all the little details collected together will make for a fascinating story. Archangel Gabriel’s greeting to the Blessed Virgin at the Annunciation is considered to be the only praise of a human being recorded in the Bible. It is considered that Mother Mary was also a witness of the Crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Mother Mary is also considered to be the link between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

When it comes to the Blessed Virgin, any relic or artefact can be considered as holy. She is, in fact, the beacon of goodness, the one whom the devout prays to receive salvation. She is like the guiding and protecting angel of human kind. Mother Mary figurines and artefact can be the perfect gift items for a devout Christian. Catholicism reinstates the three core values of the Blessed Virgin. [Information Credit: https://www.holyart.co.uk]

    · The Essence of Simplicity

Mother Mary did not lead a life surrounded by luxury items. She was the essence of simplicity and bore the same hardships that any commoner at her time would have faced. She was always grateful to the world for whatever it provided to her. People today have become blinded by power and wealth. Everyone is part of the rat race to be on the top. Mother Mary’s good deeds and her way of living should be reminisced as well as followed today. To do so would mean a spiritual awakening of the self. The codes of Christianity asks the individual to lead a humble life that is devoid of selfishness and greed.

    · The Essence of Humility

Being humble is not something that comes to many people easily. Most are blinded by self-importance and think that everyone is inferior to them. Mother Mary’s life teaches just the opposite. As pride and selfishness are the reasons of downfall, humility is the characteristic that was focused upon by the Blessed Virgin and the other saints. Her humble way leading her life is something the whole world can learn from. Mankind can save itself from the brink of destruction by following the principles of the Blessed Virgin.

    · The Essence of Charity

Even with all the hardships Mother Mary had to face, she was always charitable to others. Being so gracefully grateful to others, the Blessed Virgin always had an eye on the sick and the helpless. She continues to be ray of hope till today. This is a virtue that should be practiced by every Christian and it gives immense joy to the giver.

The values and principles of Mother Mary are not something that can be calculated financially. It transcends all the boundaries of the economist world and elevates the human being to another realm.

I'm not a devotee of Mother Mary but I believe in her works, values, and principles.
