Default Please help!

It's now less than a week to go (June 6th) until our crazy charity event, involving two of us crossing a busy shipping lane on a duck shaped pedalo, The Great Solent Pedal.

I realise we're inundated with charity requests day in and day out, but this, I think you'll agree, is a somewhat unusal event, for one of the less "fashionable" charities, but one that made such a huge difference to my life following a serious arm injury 5 years ago.

With a week to go , I really want your help. Sure a donation would be tremendous, but if you could raise awareness, that would be fantastic. Please tell people, give them the website address, post a short note on forums, whatever you can would be fantastic.

Sir Steve Redgrave, Will Carling, Sir Robin Knox Johnston and even Paul Daniels are supporting us! Please visit www.thegreatsolentpedal.com

Thank you so much.

It would be more helpful if you gave your post a more meaningful title so that people could know what you're asking for help about. "Please help!" doesn't tell anyone anything about what it's about.

I'll give you a tenner if you can accept money by PayPal.

Good luck with your venture.

I had a thought about this the other day, and then promptly forgot about it - Kay's comment has made me think of it again. Lots of people don't like Just giving as it makes you register - even if you want to donate the minimum 2 quid.

Could you put a PayPal 'donate' button on the site for the last week? It only takes a few minutes and could be well worth it. If you have a Paypal account and FTP access to the site I'll stick it on there for you if R doesn't have time.

Default With regards the title

You're right of course, but then if i mentioned charity, some may not open the thread, yet once they've read how unusual this is, i'm hoping people may help. I thought that the donation link at justgiving now accepts paypal, but please let me know if not. Many thanks for your kind offer.

thanks Nikki, if there are people who don't like using justgiving, then i can give then a paypal address they can use, but would rather not have a link on the site as justgiving is so much easier from our point of view and the charity's, plus the charity get more through gift aid. So happy for people to do this but would rather not push it on the site as may make other potential justgiving donors use paypal instead. I will blog about it though saying we can accept paypal. But just double checked and you can use paypal through justgiving. Thanks everyone for advice so far.

On reflection, it occurred to me that going via PayPal in the normal way would mean that they would take their cut - which I don't think is the case using JustGiving.

As you say, JustGiving does take PayPal. Actually the process there is quite painless. I take back what I said about preferring to pay direct via PayPal, and agree that you shouldn't push that option on the site.

Thanks Kay and thank you for your very kind donation.
