www.oldwelshguy.co.uk this is my (mainly) google blog.

It is just bits n pieces of stuff about SEo and web marketing. Come and have a look, it must be one of the few blogs around without adsense, sold links or affiliate links stuffed into the body copy

I have two blogs also

Redline Digital Services blog which has news about what Redline is up to, special offers from our partners and some useful hints and tips - the most visited being How to rip a DVD soundtrack to an audio CD

Network Midlands blog which, at the moment, just has a bit of news about our events. There's a section where you can tell us about your networking events and I'll be adding some networking resources (books, website links, etc.) and some hints and tips (how to network, what you'll need, anything else I can think of)

I have just taken up residency at Socially Minded too - a blog site for people interested in Web 2.0 and Social Media Monitoring. Could prove interesting for the SEO fans amongst you.

Cool Oh dear....

I have more blogs than I can shake a stick at....

I have the Essex Courier and parcel delivery blog packing, wrapping and strapping tips and how to deliver awkward items.

I have the driving for a living blog, all sorts of car, van, sat nav and courier stuff, have a fair few subscribers for this one for some strange reason.

I have one on Tradespace, where I re-post mainly tweaked articles from the above blogs and then I have Dartford and West Thurrock Courier blog, which I started by accident Thursday night trying to help someone out....

I blog here as well

Default Better Business Blogging

Hi there,

I've been running a blog for a couple of years now which looks at how businesses of all sizes can benefit from running their own blogs as well as helping them set them up, develop them and, of course, promote them.

It's called Better Business Blogging and there's a free ecourse as well as a load of information and downloads there to help you get stuck in.

All the best,

Mark

Default Business and marketing blog

Hi

I have a blog which I use to pass on information I have learned about business, accounts, tax, marketing, bookkeeping etc over the last 25 years of working for myself.

My institute insist I do a set number of hours CPD each year so as I learn, I try to pass it on in a language a little more easy to understand than normal "accounting speak". I used to resent the money and time I was forced to spend just to satisfy these requirements - like I wouldn't keep up to date on my own!! - but now I find the courses a rich source of blog materials!!

I recently installed a clever little plug-in called "psychic search" which keeps track of what searchs lead people to my little blog. It is showing itself to be a fascinating source of new suggestions for articles - at least I know I am writing to match what is being searched for now - it seems to help the stats anyway!!

I also recently tried the payperpost on my blog to help defray a little of the cost involved in time spent - but apart from the initial $20 for the first post, no other "opportunities" have been open to me - so that is being removed from my blog as soon as the 30 days limit is reached - 5 days and counting now. A shame as I had high hopes for that.

Anyway, please feel free to have a look at the blog and post your comments - both good and bad. The stats are quite impressive (to me anyway) so I must be doing something to help a few people down the difficult and lonely road of business.

Not yet, but I have the plans for one in my head! Just got to finish a couple of other things before I can get it sorted out.

One question for you folks. Do you reckon it's better to have you blog as part of your main business website, or to have it as a separate entity that can then be linked to and from your main site?

I suppose that if it's part of your main site, it helps increase the level of changing content, which is good. But f it's separate then there's the bonus of links between the 2 sites.

Hmmmm......

Default Psychic search...

Hi Sarah

The plugin can be found at here but it only works for wordpress blogs and I don't know if there is any difference if a blog is hosted as a subdomain at wordpress.com.

I can only report how it works on my own blog which is a wordpress based site hosted on my own webserver.

At first, I didn't think a lot to it as little information came through, but now it has been there for a couple of months there is bucket loads of search information that led people to the blog. Even to the extent of if the search was made using yahoo, google or msn. So lots of ideas for articles and lots of interesting information about where and how people find me.

The most interesting thing I have seen is that "real people" don't seem to use single word searchs. They ask questions or search on a name. For example, recent searchs on my blog have been "when your accountant asks how much money you have", "questions to ask bookkeepers", "tax Vat investigation differences" or "Ray Stewart MICB".

There is nothing magical about it despite it's name. It just works in the background and reports to you via email or just when you log into the admin sections of the blog.

Hope this helps!

Ray

Hi Chris,

I write our (Mattched IT) blog most of the time (we are splitting authoring duties soon) - A Website Redesign is not a silver bullet.. - Blog - Mattched IT - where we cover a range of topics dotted in and around website development.

I also write a blog on our Handmade Crafts site, which is more of a community project. Mind you, I'll mention it here since we're having a giveaway at the moment and some forum members may want to enter! We've got a blog - The Wonderful World of Small Business - it's aimed at small business owners or anyone thinking of taking the plunge. It covers the things that we do (Web, Health and Safety and Business Systems - the important things that small business owners don't have time to do!!). It's mostly written by me, altough occassionally I do manage to get the rest of the layabouts to write a few posts
