I read an article today about LDV in Birmingham and how the people there are fighting for a bailout of the transport company.

I tweeted the url earlier today, so you may have seen the article already.
This quote interested me -
In a direct plea to the Birmingham Mail for immediate cash aid for the factory, Mr King said: “For Birmingham, it is our El Alamein, the ultimate line in the sand. We must not retreat from this one.
“If LDV was a London or Scottish bank, no problem: stuff it full of money, our money, no questions asked.
“But because it is Brummie metal-bashing then it appears expendable,” added the former Northfield Tory MP.
Because it rings true, so much money has gone on propping up banks who are holding tight to the money, the money needs to move and by 'bailing' out other businesses then the money will start to circulate again.
If LDV goes, the price of vehicles will go up - supply / demand? the costs of goods getting delivered go up... the prices go up... less money to circulate....
