New Search Engine

Hi Guys not been around as I have been ill. I am just about to release a new directory, please feel free to have a look and submit your sites if you want to.

Interesting concept, but in it's current format, to me, it still looks like a directory rather than a search engine.

Are you designing algorithms to sift through spam, refine searches etc?

I love the idea of a purely UK search engine, and thought this seemed to be going the right direction: Searchers I love the tag line as well, "Powered by People"

But it seems to have lost momentum and traffic seems to have tailed off

Hi Steve you have lost me a bit there. I have Buzit.co.uk (directory), still going ok. Also Buzit.info (Search Engine)in beta at the mo and a lot of things could be happening with it in the next couple of months. Yes I can set the algorithms in the search engine to sift through spam etc but that is in testing so to get the best results etc.

yup it was the buzit.info I was talking about. With the drop down county box, to me it feels like a directory as opposed to a SE, but appreciate it's in beta, so shall watch with great interest

But Buzit Directory is excellent one of the best looking around.

Too much work to look after the search engine so put that on hold

I'm not much of a fan of directories but it does have PR2 which gives it better credibility than 90% of the others out there. It's good to see that you're out there actively promoting it despite being ill!
