I think it can only be a good thing. I certainly don't agree with most of what the politicians in recent years have had our armed forced do, but as Rudyard Kipling wrote:

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck 'im out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!

Out of interest, anyone here go to Remembrance Services and/or support Forces charities?

Don't go, but tend to mean to. Always watch on TV (both services) and observe both silences wherever I am. And I buy my poppy. It's not much but at least I don't reuse previous years time and time again!
