Talent: Beatles or Abba?

I consider the musical and song-writing talents of Benny Anderssen of Abba miles-ahead of Messrs McCartney and Lennon. Not even in the same league.

As an older person I remember the beatles well - even saw them at Hammersmith Odeon where my Mother actually, unbelievably, fell asleep in the middle of all the singing and screaming!

They were both successful in their own era's. To compare them simplistically is like comparing apples and oranges - they are both fruit and both grow on trees, but which is better?

I personally prefer Abba songs to the Beatles, but I think that is because Abba is closer to my generation than the beatles. I am not a fan of Paul McCartney's songs, I find them too cloying.

Well, I think they both are just great, but as a fan of Beatles just can't vote for any body else

I think the Beatles were just the 'boy band' of their day.
