A key consideration is how you will actually use your bank; in particular, do you require cash-banking facilities, in which case branch locality must be a consideration.
We have an account with Clydesdale (with the interesting benefit that I can use meeting rooms nationwide). However, the downside is that their cash clearing and online services are quite limited.
Overall, amongst the 'high streets' a lot will come down to individual managers, and personal recommendation will count for a lot.
