What's your smart (or not so smart) phone?
I'm still with Apple (iPhone 4S). Kind of fallen into a 'familiar rut' with Apple but my next could well be Android based. I hate making the transition though...
What's your handset and why?

At the moment im still on the Iphone 3GS, Our contract runs completely out next week but the plans that apple place on contracts is unreal. So currently im undecided as to whether to take out a SIM only deal for £12 a month and buy a 4S or take out the sim only deal and just wait for the iphone 5.
A mate of mine tried to convince me to go for the Galaxy S2 as its the closest thing to an iphone you get , but it still seems cluttered and alot of things i just couldnt get on with, Aswell as the fact its bloody massive.
I dont think i will be going Andriod any time soon , in fact ive even considered switching my Sony Vaio obsession in to a Mac Book next but after playing in the apple shop i just wouldn't be able to get used to having to push down on the mouse pad to click rather than just hovering my finger over the pad on the Sony.

What with a £50 a month 24 month contract ? I refuse to sign any contract longer than 12 months so i always get stung one the phone prices. Going SIM only means i save money over the year.

The trouble with 2 year contracts is that the phone warranty is only 12 months so..... as we have just found with my wife's phone - if it breaks 53 weeks into the contract the network just laugh and offer a mid-term contract replacement iphone 4s for £440 - same price as on ebay

I had the same thing a couple of years ago Ray, When the 3GS first came out i was playing football with a couple of the lads and a couple of spots of rain must have gone under the screen and the backlight never came back on, it was 14 months old. I phoned vodafone and they basically said its not their problem as i didnt take the warranty which was fare enough, I then said to them "well my contract ends in two months what can you offer in replacement of an early upgrade............... They then told me i had just under a year left on my current contract and said had signed 24 months...
Obviously i could remember word for word the conversation i had with the guy 12 months previous because it was an insurance job the time before so i kicked up a stink and asked for the phone conversations to be sent to me of which they replied " we only keep them for 6 months "
needless to say a little bit of yelling latter they gave me a new iphone 3GS and didnt even get me into a new contract.
As said above 18 months is too long let alone 24, You can pick up a 4S for about £400 now, Sim Free contract is £12 . Saves you a heap of cash in the long run and the ability to have a rolling 3 month contract on the sim only plan.

I had various Blackberrys over the past few years, the last on I had was the Blackberry Torch. When the 4S came out I decided to buy out my contract on the Blackberry and make the change to a 4s as I was very fed up of my Blackberry (would never get another).

I decided to go for a Samsung i5500 Europa on TalkMobile @ £10.20 per month for a 24 month contract.
We suggest that businesses include their QR code on their direct mail. Therefore I needed a phone with a QR code reader app, and this seemed to be the best option for me.
So far, so good.

iPhone all the way for me! The customer service at the genius bar is second to none. Had my iPhone 4 since May this year with no issues but recently the battery was failing. Appointment at the genius bar and they gave me a brand new phone with no problems!
Suppose that's what we pay for though!

I have a HTC Desire Z and HTC Sensation XE - and think both of them are great.
I'm not getting in to the "X vs Apple" debate, but never been an Apple fan, even back in the days of the Macintosh (I was a Commodore boy).

iPhone 4. It's like a mini computer and the apps are very good and useful, especially if you are in IT support.

My HTC Desire HD is a great phone.
The Android OS has just been updated and is slicker than ever.
Although I'm a fairly big Apple fan, I much prefer the interface of a HTC. The email is very efficient and stable. The App's are almost as good as Apple, and the screen size is massive.
Here's a little more...
