What a pair of scaredy cats you are.
Dave and I used to live in a beach hut in Thailand for a couple of years. (It didn't half look odd with the huge sat dish stuck on the side of it, for our Internet connection.)
We used to get all sorts of things in there - scorpions in the downstairs bathroom, cockroaches sometimes, rather large spiders. Once a snake dropped out of a tree right at our feet in the garden - I guess it was a tree snake.
We also had mosqitoes, and tik-tikkies (small lizards), and tookays (large lizards with a nasty bite). We had a heap of little waspy things set up home on the outside wall, then bees, and then hornets. We had ants of various sizes and descriptions like you wouldn't believe it.
Apart from getting dengue fever (from mosquitoes), and one nasty incident with ants, we're so far unscathed.

I loved the geckos in the philippines, and tried pulling a lizard out from under a tree on one othe thousand islands in Indonesia, only to find out the island was nicknamed "Monitor Island" there were about 60, was warned about pulling them out of trees! They bite like a komodo!
Fed a Komodo in Indo too, fed Lions and crocs in the Philippines, we had a pic done with another tiger, we were really nervous as they are not drowsy like in Thailand, but anything with more than 4 legs is just plain wrong!

The big crawly things are useful. Recently I was running late for a meeting so I jumped a monster cockroach and rode it halfway downtown before it even realised I was on its back and knocked me off.

I have a friend dealing with people emigrating to Australia and she seems to be busier than ever.
I'll stick with France though for now

Doesn't mean you have to spend all the intermediate years in England, though!

After an afternoon of similar today with five of them...
Gee, some people make things difficult for you. We'd done our best to put on a lovely spread for them and the first comment was not "Oh, thanks, the food looks lovely," but "You've gone over the top. This is over-kill, Kay". When you remember that cooking is my hobby, it was rather hurtful. You just can't please some people.
Mostly it was fun, though. (Especially after the complaining one left early.) Plus sis-in-law brought me some much-desired items from Nisbets Catering Equipment (UK delivery only).

Adam, it's quite possible that you could be my dad if you've been playing with the time machine we gave away as a special incentive for people to join the Domains and Domaining Grope.

You'd only have to go back a decade or so...
