I rarely if ever talk to clients on the phone. I go by the maxim:

If I'm listening to you, I'm not taking notes. If I'm taking notes, I'm not listening to you!

A written brief works every time, thanks.

You ever noticed that when people call you the reason for the call is never the first thing they say (unless their house really is on fire).

Its some psychological thing apparently...so you only need to tune into the second part of the call...

Great. A lot of them are very true. I particularly hate people who insist on repeating the same thing in a different way 15 times when you heard it the first time around!
