Default A little Help...

Hey guys, we have recently launched a printing website.
This is aimed at small business and consumers.

We have lots of templates on our site, the idea is the consumer can drop their text over the top. Its totally moveable, unlike some of the competition. We print using quality machine and papers etc.

We are struggling for a way to advertise and get more traffic to the site.
The website is optimised for google etc but it will be a few months until we get to the top of the rankings.

Anybody got any good ideas?

Cheers in Advance.

There's nothing much you can do in terms of natural results but keep up the optimisation work (you realise you have to keep up the seo each month yes if you want good rankings? It's not a one off thing) and wait to climb the rankings and the traffic to increase enough to make decent sales in a few months.

In between now and then, the only other way to fill the traffic gap is Google Adwords really, which is expensive.

I have spent in the past 120 pounds a month on google adwords as an experiment. The best way is things like lists of newly formed companies at companies house. These are new business with start up capital (cash) that need business cards etc. I have a few lists and leeds that way. From there simple ring them up email them say who and what you are and pitch for business. Best cold calling results for me anyroad.

Have you considered local advertising?

Or maybe even some guerilla marketing?

Update your website content regulary and use video. These are both regarded as important by Google. Also, create a blog to direct people back to your site.
Social networking pages Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are the good ways to direct traffic back to your site.

I like your website by the way! I was looking for something that was better than vistaprint and the quality of moo.com, so i'm glad ive found you!
I love all the ideas above, my biggest way of getting customers myself, is through actual person to person networking at local events and being in all the free directories that come up the top of the top 2 pages of google and making sure your on google maps. Plus we do alot of voucher offers all over the place that are free, plus kgbdeals.
Good luck and im sure you will do well.

I think that if you are selling print you really have to do a mail shot to show the quality of your work. At least to local companies and graphic designers. Something really quirky possibly. Companies who buy print stick with the same company generally so you have to convince them to try your services.

Cold calling would also be useful to introduce yourself. Get people's names and contact details so that you can send them the url link. Create a database so that you can send out email campaigns in the future.

Join business network like Ecademy and blog about print with the url. Network...
