[Resolved] Fireworks drop shadow/knock out cropping issue

OK I have a design for my new site and I'm busy cutting it all up. Design is in fireworks png format and has some drop shadow effects in places with knock out kicked (knock out removes the original graphic).

My problem is that when I'm going to crop images that I need the original graphic is out side the crop area (or part of it is) so when it's cropped it reduces the shadow effect.

If anyone knows what I mean and has suggestions on how to overcome please share
