Has anyone published their own book on here using Lulu or similar?

What alternatives are there to Lulu?

I am thinking of trying to get some hard copies of the ebooks that we sell ( and they sell nicely via downloads). I have tried the ebay way and have fell foul of their rules, and copying the download page text to the ad etc.

The ebook is updated 2 or 3 times a year, and I can just have the ebooks updated to reflect that, whereas a hard copy will become out of date every year and I suppose that's the chance to sell new versions every year...

So, what are your thoughts / experiences regarding vanity publishing?

I gave up with Lulu in the end, but that was more a time thing than anything - once you get the page margins sorted apparently it's quite easy and they're OK quality.

Alternatively speak to Suze St Maur - she might be able to put you in front of her publisher?

I've used Lulu, think it's great - make sure you use their templates though - makes it much easier

Amazon have their own print-on-demand service called CreateSpace. I haven't used it so I don't know how good it is
