Quick way to gain new clients?
I am wanting some new clients, a chance to move forward with some more interesting projects. what's the best way to do this? pick up the phone and speak to companies? email them? produce flyers and send?
Are there any quick turnaround methods to generate a few sales calls these days?

Hi Andy, welcome.
I'm assuming you use Twitter? Any luck with that?

The last time I was in a similar sort of position, I put together a nice-looking PDF flyer / brochure, and emailed it, along with a suitable introductory message, to a highly targeted list of companies I wanted to work with. Named individuals, of course.
The following morning, I followed-up (by phone) with each of the 25 or so prospects I'd approached, had meaningful conversations with five decision makers and of those, I met with two. One of these became a client.
I considered myself lucky to get such good conversion ratios. I reckon 1 client per 100 'cold' approaches is closer to normal, although it'll vary a little depending on a number of factors, and you can swing it your way a little with a targeted list. If you meet 1 decision maker for every 20 you talk to, you'll be doing well.
Whether a PDF flyer or video showreel would work best for you, I'm not sure. Why not try both. Make a compelling offer - not necessarily a reduced price though. Demonstrate value and credibility, consider what your prospect needs rather than what you actually do. Create a positioning statement - I believe I sent you a link previously to a guide from the Chartered Institute of Marketing - let me know if you want me to dig it out again.
HTH.
Regards,
Dan

Current client referrals
Hi Andy,
Have you asked any of your existing clients to see if they can refer you to other businesses?
Good Luck...

Hi Andy,
Have you tried article marketing? I found this a really cost-effective & quick way of getting more website visitors and more bookings. If you could write a few " Ten benefits of using web video" "5 things to ask when hiring a video firm" sort of articles & submit them to the article publishing sites (ezinearticles is good) I'm sure you will get some interest if not clients.
Cheers!
Alison

Adwords?
I checked out your site and would have thought adwords was the most obvious choice for you.
You mention quick sales, so that would be the best option.
Other than that, what other people have said.

Depending on your position, buying a competitor is another way to broaden your customer base. You might also get a decent member of staff too, reduce the competition by one and advertising the purchase might improve perception of your company

We have just had a drive on new business using rexisting clients, we offer a discount every time one of their referrals comes on board with us. Seems to be working really well.

You cant beat getting in front of people and impressing them with your knowledge (which is not rehearsed or read from a script!).
I run occasional free workshops on web-related subjects and pick up clients who appreciate my knowledge on the subject matter because I talk for 2-3 hours without any notes, and not only that but I add my supporting knowledge, i.e. business start up/growth, general marketing, etc, because you can add value from other directions when supporting the client.
The amount of times i'm sat at my computer and a client skypes me and says 'my websites gone down' (their hosting not mine!) or 'my email isn't working' or 'how do I get a press release out about a new product', stuff that crops up every now and again... and they don't typically use business forums to get the answers! Within 5 minutes they're trotting off with the answer from me.
If I have time, I might even do the press release for them as a goodwill gesture, or research a keyword they are thinking of using. Things that would take them ages or be such a faff for them to undertake, if at all, and what I can do in under an hour.
Let your knowledge be your best seller.

Have you thought about partnerships?
Make a list of every marketing agency in the area, decide what you're going to say, pick up the phone and set up as many meetings as you can. You're not trying to sell anything, but add value to their current offerings, so it should be fairly straightforward.
Start with me - Drop me an email!

Sorry I haven't read all this post yet, but if someone else has said what I am about to say I apologise.
You must make your marketing such that it make your business not just stand out, but be totally different from the crowd.
I came across a phrase which said, 'If you do what everyone else is doing, then you will get what everyone else is getting' Look at creating marketing that makes you different, dont just quote a list of things that you do...the fact of the matter is that no one gives two hoots about what you do, what they want' to know is your products of services going to sort out the problems they are having...end of!!
Get results driven testimonials as well...i.e. what people got as a result of using your services or products, not just testimonials that say, well they were a great company and delivered on time...YUP so do your competitor...they only want to know they are going to get results if they come to you.
