I spent mine following an EU directive. Writing bloody Privacy and Cookie Policy!!!

In reality, as a forum, we don't really need one but thought it prudent to do so as there's always one who'll complain...

Sounds good, no better way to make the weekend better than with 2 celebrations.

I spent mine in London trying to see the floatilla on the Thames, total waste of time, didn't get anywhere near it (couldn't even get close enough to one of the screens to watch it), and got totally soaked just to top it off.

Hi Mark,

I've got a quick question as I've read conflicting information regarding the cookie privacy policy for the UK. I have read that the EU and UK cookie laws differ slightly, being that the UK law states that when a user is on a UK website there is "implied consent" for cookie usage but it is mentioned in the privacy policy. The EU law states there has to a visible button where the user can turn off cookies if they choose to do so.

Now I have read on a few forum posts that people have implemented the visible button to turn off cookies, but they are UK sites. I was wondering if I had this UK law correct?

I'm not all that sure about it to be honest. I can only direct you to this thread: Cookies!

The irony of it all is that in order for a website to remember that you don't want cookies, the website has to place a cookie on your hard drive. It's all crap!
