UK Franchise Exhibition Manchester 20th & 31st Jan '09 - Anyone Going??

Hi there,

2009 has been tipped to be a promising year in the UK for franchises.

I think that the current economic climate and rising unemployment will see a rise in people taking the franchise route, especially with banks being keen to fund franchise fees.

With this in mind, I have to ask if anyone is going to the next exhibition in Manchester at the end of Jan?

I'm not exhibiting but I will be attending. I already have a few meetings set up over those 2 days. If you're thinking of going then PM me before you go and we could possibly meet up if my product is of interest to you.

I went to the Manchester Exhibition and it was quite interesting. It was good to get some advice and to know that we're going in teh right direction and that we're shaping ourselves up correctly as a franchise business.. 2009 looks like it's going to be a brilliant year for our social network franchise...

I have to say that if I was exhibiting at the Manchester Exhibition I would have been disappointed as thr 'through-put' wasn't brilliant.

I've heard that the International Franchise Conference @ London Olympia in March will be a good one to exhibit at - does anyone have any experience of the upcoming conference?

Sorry Ray, I would love to give you an overview of our venture :-)

You'll be well aware of all of these local directory franchise sites, some of them offer little extras and guides etc... ?

We've been developing social networks, for local areas, which incorporate features such as:- members can connect with people & businesses, upload videos, upload photos, write forum posts, sell/find things including a job or a ome in the classifieds forums,etc.

We're able to offer our businesses in our communities the exact same functionality as the members - so businesses upload business related videos, images, music (which could be a radio ad), write business blogs etc - and most importantly they can connect with the members! All their profile information improves their SEO and many see their profiles or forum posts being displayed in search engine results. They can log in at any time during their membership year and chaneg their ads the minute heir promotions change!

We're looking for people to franchise a site for their city (UK or english speaking worldwide locations), and the way the franchisee makes money is by selling interactive business profiles. We're definitely much much more than a business directory & guide - our social network aspect really sets us apart, and is what other directory sites wish they have.

This site's niche is a business forum (with a couple of added features) which can be used for networking.

Our niche is connecting people who are interested in a specific location. Therefore visitors to. or residents of, a UK or worldwide city would go to one of our sites to use the forums, find events, find businesses etc, and connect with people, make friends etc.

Our technology could be used in other ways, perhaps even the niche applied could be business networking, property, martial arts, mums abroad, etc etc.....
