Default Wow its hard to think of an appropriate name

Over the years I've had several businesses some more successful than others but I've decided to come back to the one I know best which is the courier business. Originally i used to deliver anything but it got too difficult to compete with the bigger companies so took the business in a more specialised direction. I've got a few meetings set up with companies I'd like to work with and if interested then my plan is to approach more companies in this particular field. I feel that I need a name which will relate more to the companies I plan on working.

My target clients will be laboratories (dental, veterinary, optical and medical) so i need some sort of name relating to this type of business. So far I've come up with the following but I don't feel any of them are suitable, any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

LCS - Laboratory courier services
LLS - Laboratory logistic services
Labistics (a combination of laboratory & logistics)
Labdel (a combination of laboratory & delivery)
Lablink (name already in use)

....well.. I will never win a prize for creative of the year, but I think that if you have to explain it, it's not ideal.... Like ladies fashion

So how about something very simple. The Lab Courier? Something like that. You don't even need a tagline, as everyone can see what you're about immediately. And there is a labcourier.com but not a lab-courier.co.uk...yet.

And if I type lab courier into google there isn't a single company with that in its name.

I also like Lab Logistics! Rolls off the tongue easily. LLS and similar acronyms are OK, the only thing is they get lost amongst all the other LLS's out there on the web.

I hope that helps a bit...

Thanks Fizza your post helped quite a bit. I've been racking my brains for ages trying to think of something suitable and 'Lab Logistics' popped into my head last night. You also came up with the same suggestion. As you say, it rolls off the tongue and describes exactly what we do so nothing to explain. Still going to give it another week of thinking before I decide 100% on the name to go with.

Its crazy how something which seems so insignificant to most people has such a large effect on a business. Until I decide on a name I can't do the logo, meaning I can't do any promotional stuff meaning I can't yet approach any new clients....

I usually 'play' with domain names using someone like 123-reg and see what names are taken and which are available. A web presence is vital for most (if not all ) businesses and if you are creating a new name, you might be best to ensure that you can get the domain to match your new company name.

There's a strong history of latin in those sectors you're looking at - maybe you could find some inspiration from there. We did with MiQuando.

Remember lab is also short for Labrador. That could be weird.
"Hi Lab Courier, could you transport my Labrador to Spain please?"

In this market if a labrador needs transporting to Spain then most would take it.
