Arrow new business idea-help please???

Hi, i'm Andy, and have a business idea i am trying to make work- but i'm having trouble with the in's, and out's....i want to start up selling fast food on the street around pubs and clubs, but am getting mixed response from the council as to exactly what i need, i will be trading into the early hours and have competition but of a different product that already has a pitch. can i set up in the same vicinity? why will the police move me on? how do i know which land is private or highway- and how do i approach them to ask permission?

another thing is that i have debt, and how can i still apply and get funding to help start this, loans/grants?
Any advice would be fantastic, as i feel like the information i'm getting is all over the place- like my head at the moment.
thanks Andy

Welcome Andy.

Have you spoken to your local businesslink? They can usually provide comprehensive Q&As and general assistance for business startups like yourself! There's probably other ideas coming too from other members here.

There's nothing like jumping in at the deep end

There may also be other enterprise / initiative agencies in your area so worth asking Business Link about them too as they may also be able to help.

Smile New Business Idea - Help

Hi Andy,

Your business idea - selling fastfood around pubs and clubs

Things to consider:
1. Type of food you will serve
2. Premises (fixed or mobile)
3. labour costs
4. employee turnover
5. health & safety issues
6. Food Preparation certificates
7. Business Plan (very important when seeking funding or grants)
8. funding (your own savings, bank loan, help from family)
9. Council license & certificates (police etc)

With reference to whether a piece of land is privately owned or a public highway, go to Land Registry - Land Registry where you can find a property or get information about a piece of property for as little as £3 per search. Armed with this information you can then proceed to your County's Estates Department and seek assistance from there.

Hope this is of help.

Best regards,
Grace
