Default Who are the worst customers?

Who make the worst customers? Domestic, commercial or industrial?

I am not sure I would pick one from those categories. The worst customers are those that dont pay!

I find medium sized companies that think they are more than they are produce some of the tricky situations. But, that's just my experience of a small selection of businesses.

I have some good experiences of overseas customers, just to confuse the thread!

"picky" customers are the worst, you spend your time doing your job to the best of your ability, and then the smallest of smallest things are "picked" on!!

This is normally something that has nothing wrong with it, but they just "pick"
I have had this myself, its a nightmare!! (they only want money off or delay the payment)

Worst customers I have are when I make a website for them then they say change this and that. Show them the new design and they say they preferred the original design.

It's true, of course. And your sentiment's one I've heard often. Dad's a joiner and has found exactly the same attitude to payment.

And of course you have the original to fall back on when they change their mind don't you. For the purpose of creating a backup, I save the work shown and if any alterations are required, I produce a duplicate and work via that until the next meeting.

You need to make sure you have a full brief agreed and signed before starting any work.

But we are talking about people who don't pay, not what you should do!
When the work is complete you expect payment!
NO EXCEPTIONS!

Also, it does not matter what they sign up to, if they don't want to pay ...they wont!

When I do database development work, which I still dabble in, I work with a very strict brief that is pretty much tick-boxes, and at three points in the brief there will be payments required.

The sort of customers that grind my gears are either corporates who expect to be allowed to price fix because they're so big, or pubs that cut your team numbers becuase either the manager or one of the bar staff has an SIA license.
