Im not sure how they thought they could make a success of the business when Virgin had never been able to make it profitable. There was no significant difference in the way the company ran (at least so it appeared to me) and thus the chain continued to lose money. Oh well.

My understanding is that it was a management buyout at Virgin Megastores, and they have spent the last year or so re-branding as Zavvi. Feel sorry for the poor s*ds who stumped up their hard-earned for that venture!
