BT quoted me:
for 2Mbps on a 3 year contract £6,750.00pa with no connectin charge which is normally between £3000 and £7000!
You'd have to pay that connection charge if you only want a 1 year contract.
Interestingly, you get a 10mbps connection on a 3-year contract and it's only £5,900pa rental.
