We hover at around 30-40KB/s so it's pretty dire. I'd probably pay £50 or more a month for a 2Mb connection at this moment. Line length is over 8Km.
Satellite BB is an option but that's pretty expensive. I think that BT upgrading the infrastructure in cities first (where BB is already super-fast) is massively short-sighted but that's where the money is I guess.
